Polypropylene.
Polypropylene was discovered in 1954 by the Italian Giulio Natta, who progressed with Karl Ziegler works and achieve to get a regular structure. Commercialization begins for both in Europe and North America in 1957 with the objective to manufacture domestic equipment, the first company to produce it was the Italian chemical Montecatini.
For the coloration of the thermoplastic materials we use masterbatch.
In Sct-Straw we work with an extended gamma of raw materials and references but our main experience relies on propylene (PP), polystyrene (PS) and PVC.
Today, continuing with our article series about the extrusion process, we speak about the different classes of extruders.
There is a huge variety of methods for plastic creation. Everyone has their own particular and different process. The main methods are injection, extrusion, thermoforming, and blow or compression.
